It is always heartwarming to run into past patients of a Place of Grace but for me, this past weekend was especially meaningful as I ran into a past recipient of the “Gracie Grant” at the Abilities Expo in Chicago.

Denise was one of our first adult grant recipient and she has been doing amazing since HBOT. So amazing that she even joined me on stage to say a few words about how HBOT has changed her life.

Denise has CP and when I first met her it was very hard to understand her as she had difficulty with her speech and also difficulty with sitting up in her chair. Denise was determined to do HBOT and worked for months to make it possible, which then made her one of the recipients of our first ever Gracie grants in honor of my daughter Grace.

Denise was so determined and it paid off. This weekend I saw a independent young women who was able to speak clearly, who held a microphone and who sat up straight with such pride and determination. As I listened to her speak, it made me wish all of our kiddos could tell us how HBOT makes them feel because hearing it first hand from someone with the same conditions as so many little ones who come to a Place of Grace, makes it so much nicer for parents as they can really feel the power of how HBOT works.

This past weekend with Denise proves that it’s never too late to start HBOT! You’re never too old… whether your 3 or 30 it just takes hope and determination!

I was so humbled this past weekend and take pride in every patient, mom, dad, grandparent, brother, sister, aunt, uncle or friend who hold on to the possibility of hope because without hope nothing is possible. With it we have so many possibilities.

If you ever need a reminder of that or you’re losing faith or hope, please call me, shoot me a email or text and I will remind you of why you should keep fighting. Grace will remind you why you should keep fighting.

Hang tough and hold onto hope, always.

Shannon

Everything Happens For A Reason

Because sometimes we all need to be reminded. I know lately I feel as though nothing I do is right or has meaning and I have let myself believe that. I am looking forward to 2018, but make a promise to make the rest of 2017 matter…
